VENERABLE MASTER'S MESSAGE
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but the most important part of this holiday is appreciating and spreading love to our family, friends, brother Masons and their families. Without all these people, the world would be a lonely place.

On Thanksgiving a few years ago, my son was in the U.S. Marines stationed in Iraq. I remember sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner wondering if everything was well for him, what he was thinking about and when would he be home.  I would like to say thank you to our soldiers that are over there right now, serving our country and keeping us all safe in these hostile days.  I can't imagine how they must feel, being in danger and being away from home and loved ones.  God Bless them all and guide them to a safe return.

On October 3rd, we honored Bud Gurney, 32° KCCH, with the Patriot of the Year award.  When Bud found out that he was going to be honored, he was a little confused.  "Why me?" he was heard to be saying, "I haven't achieved that much in my life."  When Andy Saar finished reading Bud's history, it was obvious that Bud was very qualified to be Patriot of the Year.  Bud, thank you for giving us the opportunity to honor you on this special evening.

Remember Brethren, we cannot survive unless we have attendance at stated meetings, volunteers to go through the chairs, and, most of all, new members.  The future of Scottish Rite is in our hands and no one else's.

One more thing, if you have any comments or suggestions on the meals I serve, please communicate with me, and, if there is a dish or dishes that tickle your fancy, please talk to me and I will try to incorporate them in a menu.
